By nights shadow, i practice my art.
under its darkened veil i traverse the city,
unhindered by the crowds of rich mundanity,
free from my shackles, I'm a world apart.
in a world that is forever guided,
i am that which moves unhindered,
through the darkness,
it breathes, pulses, alive.
city streets abandoned, beautiful,
street lamps and moonlight my only guide,
i traverse the city streets and rooftops,
a free man.
my breath against the silence,
soft shoes against the rooftops,
the kiss of air mid jump,
as the coolness of darkness,
caresses bare arms.
i land with a roll,
forward momentum,
total control,
still i run, and still,
to the edge of reason, and past it till
like a babe born anew,
i place my hands on my knees,
and breathe deeply the air,
that even itself seems awakened.
Fresh, pure and unaltered,
mine. life in every breath,
and in every part of me,
By nights Shadow, i am free.
