What lies behind Mona Lisa's smile
For how can we define at what she hides behind her eyes
Is it wickedness, merriment or deception which we wish to find
She smiles. No more like smirks, knowing something we do not
Constantly her eyes move roaming from where she hangs
Following every move we make,every thought that passes by
And as Da Vinci once stated a twinkle in his eye
"The Lady had many secrets, I merely painted one of them"
So what lies behind Mona Lisa's Smile...

Reminds me of an old Nat King Cole song my mother used to sing to me.'are you warm, are you real mona lisa, or just a cold and lonely lovely piece of art'...I think we all have our own idea's what lies there but this is nicely done leaving us to our own conclusions

I liked this poem alot.
But for some reason it left me annoyed... but thats a good thing!
Here i was excited, that i was to receive an explanation , but got nothing but a very good observation!
Not to mention those dame ellipsis at the end that tease me further!

LOL this is comical because well we all can come to our own conclussions what lies behinds the mysterious Mona Lisa and well I think this will be going on for many generations to come because nobody shall ever kno because the only two people who did was Mona Lisa herself and Da Vinci himself! perhaps someday someone will speculate what is really behind the painting and do something crazy rip the painting off the original frameage thus destroyin the masterpiece and discover something sayin you fool why destroy the wordest greatest masterpiece ect. LOL idk anymore. great write as always
