Bittersweet Memories

The sunlight dances on the waves
For a moment in time
Our love was perpetual
The salty air of the ocean tickles
my nose
I remember how we use to swim
together during the summer
Or how I use to lay next to you
on the beach
Even though its been years
since I have held you
I can remember the way you
smelled
But unlike the reality I thought
existed
Locked away inside a shell
was the truth all along
And life was just to a made up
tale
One second you didnt want
to let go of my hand
The next thing I knew
You were gone without a trace
Left me behind
Only thing I had left was footprints
in the sand
And tears flowing down my face
Life must go on they say
Your happy with another now
How can love be so fickle
My heart is bleeding out
So now all I have are broken
memories
And the sounds of the ocean
That leave me drowning in this
love
I still love you inspite of your
betrayal
Alas its a waste of breath
