Fingerprints

Missing image
No two the same
Monochrome
Yet alive with the flame
Of a day steeped in fame
Rosa Parks was her name
We're damn lucky she came
And taught sense to us all
And whilst sitting
Stood tall

It was just time
No heroic intentions
Just honest retention
Of faith
Of belief
Of an ending to grief

Rosa Parks was her name
We're damn lucky she came
No heroic intentions
Just honest retention
Of faith
Never ending
It's love she was sending
Not hate

But the bait
It was taken
And man was mistaken

Await

I ditto. Those two lines struck chord here too!

    "No heroic intentions

I really love this part: ~~And whilst sitting
    Stood tall~~ So very true.
    Great job.

  • How mighty, especially from someone who is British and on ordinary circumstances would never have heard of her!

  • A very powerful and poignant dedication to Rosa Parks, and her passionate voice for civil rights.
    A great read as always.

A wonderful dedication to a civil rights pioneer!!

I cannot fathom what allpoetry would be if you ever leave! Your writings are so thought provoking and insightful. You attack subjects that few people are brave enough to deal with. The lines are scripted with power, passion and purpose! You write with an idea of what has to be said.
