Small part of my Novel

*Please note that I do not want this copied or stolen.I have been working on this Novel for three years.It is a work in progress.At the moment I am still on my ruff copy and editing.*

 My heart nearly jumped out of my body when a deafening explosion rang out.My vision went a pure hot white a long with everything else in the room.I blinked a few times,shocked.There was nothing just still white.My vision cleared a while later and then came back.
"What on earth was that?" I cried.
Thomas looked as terrified as I was.I could feel the shock waves of something vibrating through me.We both appeared to be surrounded by white fire.It illuminated the room.Flames were high as they licked they ceiling.I couldn't feel heat or anything from it.It danced wildly around the furniture and us.Then it disappeared like vapour.Thomas opened the door and rushed outside.
"Oh my God!" he cried looking up at the sky.I hurried out after him and looked up.
"Wow!" was all I could say.High above us the sky was a mystifying array of swirling colours and lightning flashes.There was a bright light in the middle of a spiralling vortex.Different colours grass greens,crimson,lilac,midnight blue,silver and bronze.They merged in and out of each other.I caught a glimpse of Thomas crying.Tears were welling in his eyes.I couldn't look up anymore;it was getting dizzying and too bright.
"Oh my God!" he nearly screamed,"Oh fuck!"
"What?" I asked unnerved by the incredible event taking place.
"It's a sign" his voice was small now."Oh fuck wer'e done for.We are near the end."
"End of what?"
"The fucking world!"
I looked up again and a strange calmness over came me.
The beautiful liquid colours glimmered and fanned out across the sky.The lightning was moving eastward.There was no thunder.Only a static noise that hummed continuously.Then the most amazing thing happened.The colours started to rain,zillions upon zillions of tiny droplets.Thomas was shaking madly and very pale.Tears were still streaming down his face.
Soon people began to crowd around and stare senselessly upwards.
"It's so glorious," I whispered,nearly in tears myself.We stood now drenched in sparkling coloured rain.Everyone was dazzling like diamonds.The lightning somehow came right above us.Some people stayed frozen to the spot while others fled.Something flared out of the sky and hurtled like a missile into a factory not far from us.I didn't hear Thomas yell through the explosion.I turned and ran back inside with him.The glass windows rattled.
"Come with me!" he shouted leading me from room to room.He grabbed my hand and we raced down into the cellar.
