Finding Grandma

Dust tickled my senses~
while one by one,
generations of memories
touch my hands.

Breathing became silenced,
as I caught my own eyes
framed,
irises not brown-
but gray.

Grandma…
so elegant ~ serene.
Like a movie star
gracing an old movie screen.

This ~ was my wise granny,
looking so sheltered – naïve
holding such a pretty face
each tendril perfectly
in place.

This forgotten treasure,
led water to my eyes~

a rain,
warm upon what's hers,

now mine.
