friday night

8:41pm
The last glimpse of daylight
penetrating metal blinds

drawing hazy lines across my bed.
Blunt emotions surge through my fingertips,
dancing upon the keyboard.
So much to say, but how to say it...
Playing words like a piano
reverberating through my mind,
I write till my eyes water.

    You captured our motivation

    "Playing words like a piano
    reverberating through my mind,
I write till my eyes water."
I think those lines say it all. This is what we are all about, those of use who write here and elsewhere. Words are our music and our addiction, and I have written until my eyes watered. I like the way you encapsulated this thought with of great reach into a brief handful of words. There is skill in that. This poem was a lovely melody.

  • Good write...can easily relate...Leaf

  • Ah wow, I love the style you wrote this in. It really paints a picture, it's almost like the poem is a silent photograph. Simple yet powerful. The poem gives so much importance to one moment in time. Well lol, I'm not really good at expressing myself so hopefully I didn't sound dumb but bottom line: awesome poetry!
