Delightful
Delightful! I have a short, bearded husband, who is often found kneeling on his haunches in the garden, so this is especially charming for me. Thank you. -
Cute!
Wow! This is so cute! I can see the cat and gnome sit side by side trying to fish, waiting in anticipation for the first fish to get hooked. This paints a very cute, relaxing and peaceful imagery in my mind. This leaves alot for the reader to wonder...It resonates beautifully and has a wonderful open-endedness to it. The way I see it right now: the cat is a black evil fellow and the gnome is a nice good guy. Evil vs. good meets my eye here. Who will catch the fish first? Will good be victorious over evil? Ah...nice Aha moment to this haiku! Lovely puzzle and mysery 'ku.
Best wishes,
Charishma -
excellent
oh i like this one very much - a duality of stillness...a very open haiku coming from a simple image....a beautiful sense of togetherness or oneness or something in there as well...the first line becomes more meaningful after a couple of readings & re-readings & listening to it read out loud...excellent work. -
I enjoyed this, the picture it painted was lovely , well done

This is nifty. It made me think of the garden decorations some people have, of gnomes fishing in tiny pools, and a cat nearby. Enjoyed

I have to echo Sprite's comment. I love this haiku, Andrew! You've left it for the reader to decide what the little tabby is "fishing" for as it sits next to a lawn gnome. Cute and humorous.

I enjoyed the difference in the way they fished that was created in my mind. Love this.

Creative, descriptive
I love the creativity in this fun Haiku. I can picture the two sitting...waiting....lol -

This is just plain wierd... I think there is a contest asking for wierd... you have a rather unique slant on life some days....Susan

Suspicious
Hi Andrew:
Sounds like a fish fry is in order. Can't imagine where this one came from, but the imagery was great and almost unbelievable. Thanks. Bill -
very good
Now there has to be some history behind this poem. Not? Ok, I will just have to make some up.
excellent inspiration.
