Now I Lay Me

Love is downed in memories
fluffed to fit slow sinking measurements
in succinctly feathered pockets of Shalimar imaginings

spread out for those those who seek
to snuggle secrets in soft spaces

designed for whispered invitations,
the nibbling and sucking of hair

Author notes

This is in response to a prompt on "pillow words." Perhaps this will offer a better sense of this. The poem was limited to only 40 words. So you can see that there is more amusement than muse here.

    40 words reminiscent of Shakespeare

This is a poem to "sink into" and "snuggle secrets in soft spaces". It whispers and lulls our sharpened senses into soft reading repose. We know whether to be or not. Goodnight, sweet prince.
