Autumn Comes(H.M.)


Autumn's cool hands descend
as contours of the landscape tremble.
For, now, mystery will abound,
with stark reminders
of her callous wrenching
of all that was beautiful and symmetrical.

The land shudders,
as secrets are buried
beneath her falling spell.
Glossy scenes have become dulled
and her face glitters
with naked revelations.

Her voice is a falsetto
of the kaleidescope
of vision and wonder
of true artistry.

She has bared the land,
insensitive to the chill
called Winter.

    Wow! This was fabulous! The emotions was so intense I responded physically with a real shiver. I am amazed that you were able to incorporate these words so absolutely naturally.

    "of her callous wrenching
    of all that was beautiful and symmetrical." ...that line was amazing and a stunning opening to the effects of autumn that came afterward.
