It's time to part again,
and baby I'm sorry
It gets longer everytime
and I know you worry
A last kiss goodbye
and a hug to part
I tried not to cry
but I can't change my heart
You know I'll be back
after a little while
Darling, I made a promise
but I'll be back to see you smile
Think of it as a vacation
not me going away
Don't let life pass you by
love me even if I'm not here today
Cause all that we went through
in those years gone by
only make us stronger
as these state lines fly
The time will come
and I'll finally be home
to stay in your arms
and no longer roam
But for now, I have to do this
in search of who I am
to become a better person
in hopes you understand

I think this is a marvelous poem and a heartf*lt proclamation. I might also sugest that it has insprations from the Shinedown song Second Chance.
I loved the rhyme scheme. It wasn't forced and got straight to the point. This poem really touched my heart.
I'm going off to college in less than 3 days now, and I can really relate to this poem and the points professed.
This seems to resemble the way I feel, a sad but exciting parting of ways.
