Take heed of all correction
For then you shall become wise
It is there to help you grow
Not be filled with foolish pride
There are some that take offence
Flesh rising up attacking back
It's then you will see the truth
Understanding wisdom they do lack
Holding on to ones self
They wonder why they struggle
Reminding us of a story
Of a man wrestling with an angel

I wasn't completely sure I understood the last couple of lines. I assume they are a Biblical reference (Jacob wrestling an angel) but I was unsure how it fit with the rest of the poem. I did enjoy this piece. Nice write.

The reference to the last two lines is correct...Representing our own struggles of good and evil, right and wrong on the inside...our hearts and minds. Better to correct ourselves than to be corrected by others, for by being corrected we become wise and if we correct ourselves we gain wisdom and discernment. The reference to Jacob was 'leading' to the mirror...a look at ourselves. Thankyou muchly
