Gentle Eyes

There she is in my dreams
Moonlight on her red hair
Crickets and cicadas
A symphony in the night
Fireflies dance around her
Blinking in content
Her lips curving in a seductive smile
A twinkle in her eyes
So tantalizingly close
I can smell her perfume
Her sweet face
Gently eyes
Illuminated by candles
Slowly she begins to fade
As my heart begins to sink
Only a dream
And the end has come
Reality sets in
As the subconscious dejectedly sleeps.
