The first year we're here to play
No real work to do all day
It makes sense to learn from fun,
and in Kindergarten that's how it's done
The second year we're figuring it out,
Finding what we're all about
No more shouting,
No more pouting
The third year we've found our friends,
Formed the groups and made the mends
Now it's time to do the worksheets,
So that we can make the ends meet
Now it's time for peer-mediation
Grade level full of exasperation
Here the tests start pouring in;
This is where school truely begins
Some are victims of a bully,
Yet others still don't get it fully
And though they still cause many tears,
We will find them through the years
Now you are top of the chain
It's been imprinted in your brain
But next year you won't be so cool:
When you head of to Middle School

How interesting and true. I like the transition of the years in this piece and how easily it does relate to life on a very real level. I am so glad we cannot go back and relive our youth...I'm still trying to leave mine behind LOL

These are my favourite lines! Thanks for entering my contest and good luck.

I'm not a rhyming person, so I didn't really love it. It is good, though.
