emptied me out
see through glass
my heart bled like loose change
i
fell
heavy
dead weight
my char-coaled body hit the ground many times before
but not like this
i
cracked that hard concrete
too weak to stand
he leached away my love
my romance
my greatest desires to stay me
to stay grounded
i
fell
hard
dead weight
palms bled tired blood
anemic mentality
that need for wanting something was gone
faint sighs of loss
no desire to bounce back
i
fell
hard
dead weight
unrecognizable junior high photos
closed them up
tired of crying
arms swelled and puffy
painful sticks
powdered crystals
overpowered my mind
drowned in other things
paper thin
he said i'll never win
i
fell
hard
Author notes
can't let bad relationships get you down. get up and fix your life. sometimes folks turn to drugs and other things to mask that pain...gotta get over it
by the way, this poem is not about me
