Passing Days

I fear that I won’t make it home
Or maybe I’ll get hurt
I don’t know, which I fear most
When I’m laying in the dirt

The sun it sets a night goes by
A new day waits for us
We face the devil one more time
You know he’s one mean cuss

But days they pass
And hope draws near
My fears just pass away
I’ll soon be home, my dear

  • Beautifully Heart-felt!!

I love this warm and loving poem. It should be printed in a greeting card for any one of the military persons to send home to their spouse. Great work, Charlie!! I envy your muse's passion and heart.
    peace & hugs,
    xx Cyn xx

this piece is full of raw emotion, it scratches the surface of what lies in the depth of the soldiers soul. If you put that depth to the emotion I would be terrific, if is a good read as is with the emotional content that it conveys
