When I was small and you were there,
I reached up to take your hand.
I don't know if you were aware,
But you just were my special brand.
I looked up to you and mom,
Wishing I could be like you.
I thought you were the bomb!
And I loved it when you played Peek-A-Boo.
Daddy, you're my favorite guy,
Wether I show you or not.
You fix things when they go awry,
And you're usually right on the dot.
You're my daddy and I love you,
Though sometimes it may not seem so.
So when it comes time for me to go off to BYU,
Don't cry much, for I'll remember the times from long ago.
I wish you could walk me down the aisle
When I'm wearing a big white dress.
Though it will surely be a while
Before it comes to that request.
You've been a big part of my life
And there's no other way for it to be.
But you have to let me go when I become a wife,
And teach my kids their ABCs.
I'm your little girl forever and for always
So take me close and hug me tight.
I'm Daddy's little girl, forever and for always.
So everything will always be alright.
