For secrets of a silent nature kept
Within the thorns that strangle out the day
Her restless heart had faded quite away
And though the moonlight shone with heart of gold
As alabaster white her hands enfold
An apple red, an apple deep in hue
Where vile poison seeps it's liquid through
And ne'er a shadow walks as yet to part
The suffocating ivy from her heart
As clouds drift by like ghosts across the moon
And whistling wind plays out it's haunting tune
No breath escapes her full and ruby lips
As dew from grasses all around her drips
Keeping steady rhythm in the night
A million jewels caught in pale starlight
But winters ice burns deep within her soul
That's fading fast within this wretched hole
In ice glass coffin laid on velvet blue
The maiden sleeps awaiting heart that's true

So glad you liked this one. This is an old favourite cartoon, which I have given a more gothic feel here. Thank you for your lovely words.

Thank you dearest friend! I loved the old Disney cartoon of this story!
I have a few friends who refer to me as Snow White, because of my long dark hair and love of long skirts! It's quite funny really! lol

Not only a teacher, but a student too. One that shows eloquence throughout this write in a classical styling.
I enjoyed this a lot, and will endeavour to see what other jewels lie in wait.
The creativity in this brings home the need to follow certain lines to the end production, bringing home a memorable visit. Well executed, and well worth reading.
Thank you for sharing.
