I could say I've been away on hols
Or working so very hard
Telstra took my internet
My muse left her bard
Maybe I was kidnapped
Or paid not to write
Tegan took the computer
Then I couldnt find our site
Chained in the dungeon
For not showing my boobs
An unexpected trip
Ive been stuck upon the loo
But no I cant tell tales
Gwampa would be so mad
The thruth of my absence
Is I have been real bad
No excuses have I
A sad and sorry fact
My reason for not writing
Is I am very very slack

Option 1
hope I have remedied my slackness

It appears that you have remedied that slackness dear and done so very well in my opinion. I just loved this piece, it was such fun to read.
Good luck in the contest.

Dear Mia, you can use all the excuses you want, I'm just so pleased to see you back that I'll forgive you anything.
I hope Todd is ok
Good luck in the voting.

Hmmm... likely excuse(s) Me thinks the king has spoilt his dear granddaughter by allowing her to come and go as she pleases.
But that's okay, at least you do it with permission unlike the rest of us who must work to satisfy him as well as ourselves... not an easy task
This is a cute entry and I wish you good luck in the contest

I love the way your poem reads or at least the way I read it...it just sped along in your list of excuses.
A very funny enjoyable read.

I think any of the above excuses work very we...especially the one where you are stuck in the 'loo'..and many of us would be happy to get paid for 'not writing' when we have lost our muse..sort of like unemployment compensation...
Good piece and good luck..

Honesty pays
Reward the thoughts! Sure beats
the opposite! Of course, it's
not full of challenges, repeats
a story without loss, no bits
contradicting facts, no defeats
so the whole story still fits
even weeks later for the treats
and we see the real benefits:
Telling true tales never fails
remembering all the wee details!
Wishing good luck in the judging!

Glad you're back!
What the bunny!!! I see dust bunnies accumulated on the page in your absence. Like a note written on a dusty table that but for the dust couldn't be written.
-
Ahhhhh Mia, you're back.
We will excuse you for not having an excuse. You still have it though girl, you still have the knack to write. Great poem dear cuz.
Thank you or entering.
