Like a clown,
I hide my true face.
My evil eyes,
demonic heart.
All the pain,
I suffer continuously from,
this has made me into a monster.
Mask to never be removed,
fake laughs,
false smiles.
Lies lived,
lives destroyed.
All this I am,
all this I have done.
Like a clown,
I hide my true self.
Demonic and evil,
this is me,
this is my life.

a good piece of dark and twisting poetry penned, with a fine grace and style, ah we all throw those mad eyes and false smiles out at times in our lives, and enter the darker realms of live and love, it is humanity's nature to do so for we are a dark species, which is why we are at the top of the food chain. thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest.

My trouble is I say it like it is. I am one who can send you you to hell and you think it was a compliment. Strange I have been married to the same sweet gal for 30+ years. Well, we are honest with each other. I avoid people I do not care for and tolerate very few. Now your poem but you need to remove your mask. You will feel better. Good luck in the contest.

Short yet filled with sorrow. I think everyone goes through things where we lose ourselves along the way. We just have to get up and keep on going.
"Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine."

Anyways good write. -
I think many people do feel as if they are unworthy to show their selves. Mistakes often leave us in chains of self guilt and condemnation. Forgiveness and the will to change could very well help to lay the masks down for sure. Thanks for entering and good luck
