Come Back, My Love

The morning sun rises as I wake; you're not there.
On the nightstand lay a note, saying you've left me.
When glancing in the mirror, you don't recognize what stares back.
No words could fill the void now in your heart, the one I put there.

Oh how I love you so, which is why I am setting you free.
Just please come back my love. I'm not going anywhere.
Visions of you fill my mind every minute and tug at my heart.
Your possessions remain untouched, sitting alone, as do I.

One phone call changed it all: you won't be returning.
Selfishness filled my heart, and I forgot to love you.
There are no redo's, as we will never be close again.
I'd be your savior in a heartbeat, but you refuse; you're strong.

Please come back, my love. Regret eats away at my conscience.
Even though I rightfully deserve all this, I hate this painful separation.
"I'm sorry," I know is too late to speak; the damage was done.
Come back to me....grow, my little flower, and sprout into my arms again.

    A true hard to let go masterpiece. It shows the urgency we feel when we are trying so hard to let go .... not really wanting †o. Nice job.
