An End Without a Begining

A Princess trapped at the top of a tower
Awaiting her knight in shining armour.
When will he help her?

The fire-drawing dragon stands
between them;
Keeping the Princess captive.
She is within his grasp,
But he doesn't try to touch her.

Fear stops him,
Fear of the dragon;
Fear of fire.

How can he and the Princess
Be brought back together
If the monster isn't murdered?

He must make the monster move on!
Let them be together rather than
Try to terminate them.

But how can there be an end
If there is no begining?

Author notes

Okay so this is a rather complicated poem inspired by a theme of jealousy!

My ex-boyfriend has this new girlfriend who doesn't allow him to speak to me! He'll stop and chat when she's not around but when she is, it's a different story altogether. I've heard that she's jealous of him having feelings for me or something... It's a complicated story! Anyway, I've only met her once and that one time she was quite the b!tch to me and I just don't get it!

So anyway, I am the Princess in the poem, he is my knight and she is the dragon standing between us. The relationship between the Princess and the Knight does not represent a romantic relationship at all, it represents the friendship between me and my ex, who I was really good friends with before she came along.
