Everybody needs one
A lover that is
And I’m not talking about
Husbands or wives or life companions
The people who pick up your socks
The people you raise children with
The people you depend on to pay the rent.
I’m talking about someone
You like.
Someone who
Likes you.
Somebody to spend
A hot afternoon with
In an air conditioned motel room
Tearing up the sheets
And rearranging the furniture.
I had a friend like that.
We met in the shop
Where she worked
In the mall
After it was closed.
We danced to the stereo
In the dark.
Fucked on her boss’s office chair.
And then went home.
To the others
The husbands, the wives
Who were too annoyed
To exhausted by the rest of it.
I called her the other day.
She remembers the dancing.
I remember the sex.
We both agreed
It was a pure
Beautiful thing
While it lasted.

Welcome to my favorites list and my favorite poems list

Now if anyone has a handle on direct poetry, it would be you. Romantic in its honesty, which is a rare thing to see around the AP neck of woods.
There's something to be said for taking a moment, writing about it, and refusing to get lost in ridiculous verbiage which never makes the moment more or less important, beautiful or meaningful.
NICE!

Very Poor
"Fucked her on her bosses office chair" wonderful
imagery!. Quote.. "All poetry should have a point" Unquote. I suppose one can't expect anything else
from a "poet" who refers to a widely acclaimed poem
as a "Wank Off." your vocabulary must be very limited -
really liked the first part of this poem the in went out with a bang to I can see the beauty in this poem
