Lips quivering,
Hands all in a twist
I give you signs,
Though all you've missed.
Watching as the pendulum swings,
Slowly it taunts
For the time is approaching,
And I've flaunt all I could flaunt
My dream shatters,
My feelings deepen
Me wanting you,
My attempts cheapen
For they are worthless.
My heart throbbing,
Blood pulsing through my veins
As I wait for your kiss,
The wait driving me insane.
No way to sit still,
Once again I advance
It continues,
You, still holding your stance.
Thirty seconds remain,
Then none.
As the pendulum strikes twelve
A new day has begun.
Disappointed,
My heart paces steadily
As you finally kiss me,
We embrace, wholeheartedly.
The wait better than the event,
No fireworks explode
As I sit back in discontent.

'The wait better than the event'.
That line made a great poem a winner for me. You started and ended the piece strongly. I commend you on a great piece. Imagery is used wisely and effectively to beautifully portray an event that many people can relate to. Thanks again for entering.
