Show Me Grey

Baby, in the nights I'm hurting,
and I can't find the hope,
all I want's for you to hold me tender.
Be my angel through the storm.

These rainy days seem never ending,
and summer seems just out of reach.
I want the wind in my hair again,
as it blows the cobwebs from my heart.

When the world seems black and white,
and I can't find the middle ground,
that's when I need you to show me grey.

I know that there's no ring in our future,
no silk sheets, no love songs,
that's not what I want from you.
Just give me what you always have,
be there when I feel helpless,
and I start to lose my mind.

Darling, I'm not asking for the stars
just to know you have my back.

I enjoyed this. Some of the ideas were kind of cliche such as "cobwebs from my heart" but that didn't really affect me as I continued to read. It's extremely sad, and hopefully this isn't personal because that is how sad it is.

The last two lines....They are love. Absolute love.

Thank you for entering and good luck in the contest
