Out of the rain

You came to me in the night-time.
Said your clothes were wet from the rain.
I gave a sigh and took you in
Soggy mess that you were.
Let you dirty the brand-new carpet.

You never said a word.
Only watched me with those big, peculiar eyes.
Your curly hair plastered like brambles
Climbing the white stone of your forehead.

Author notes

I have absolutely no idea where this came from. Funnily enough it's about a mother-son relationship.

Please tell me what you think
