My formerly white running shoes
now stained green, yellow, and brown
have been passed down from child to child
and with each a new journey is found
they went to soccer with my sister
and to feild hocky as well
she loved her new white shoes
I did not find them that swell
then to my brother
he was also a big fan
he would jump flip and tumble in them
then take them off and walk on his hands
finally I got the famous shoes
whos souls were now worn down
I would run and climb and play all day
and jump and scream and pound
Yes we loved our hand-me-down shoes
they brought great joy, and fun, and play
only to then sit in our closets
and wait to see another day
Author notes
Writen for the shoes contest, I choose the running shoes prompt. This is a little story about how the shoes in my family have been worn by all of us, and we have all had great times in them.

I remember those hand me downs, though not so much the shoes! It was a good take to choose and an original approach.
