As I sit there connected to a machine
I watch you
I watch the way you smile
The way you sit next to me
Even though you would rather be somewhere else
I watch as you do everything you ask me
And I watch the burden sink deeper into your eyes
Every. Passing. Moment
Your still young
You've got your whole life ahead of you
I wish I could offer you more
I'm your big brother
I am meant to be looking after you..
Not you looking after me.
And I wish, that I could say it will be over soon
Because it won't.
Because it will last forever
And I feel better with you there
Even though I am taking life out of your soul
I know that you love me
Because otherwise you wouldn't be doing this
You would do this for the rest of your life
Only because I am your brother
But when I say I love you
You say you'd better
Because as your saving my life
I'm killing yours
Author notes
I tried to write this from my brothers perspective. Was hard coz I don't actually know how he thinks

I think you got him pretty spot on hon. I know he hates what he has to put you through... or me... and yet he doesn't wanna do it alone.
You know him better then you think, me thinks
