well there is a type of poetry that has a specific format called a 'diamante'. least that's how i think you spell it. and well this is my first attempt at it.

Good first attempt! The form is called a Rictameter & you did pretty OK here except that the first word [which is two syllables] is always also the last word & the theme should be consistent which it isn't here. I think you need to rework this poem & then you should look for a Rictameter Contest & challenge your self!

Ya mean there's a form specifically called Diamante? One is never too old to learn something new! Thanks for the link. I thought this was just another name for the Rictameter which often comes into the shape of a diamond!
