A Lament For My Sister

How does it feel with poison coursing through your veins?
What thoughts of darkness are in the deepest of your brain?
Do you do this to hide from all the sorrow and the pain?
Does it really help you; does it really keep you sane?

I see you consuming, liters every day
Personality change and you just hide away
From early morning to late at night
But all we end up with is a gruesome fight

Help me get you through this, listen to my plight
Help me, make me understand; end this endless night
I reach out to you, you shoot me down
How will I ever rid myself of this perma-frown?

Let me show you things you thought you’d never know
But first I need you to break out of this, this chrysalis of woe
My mind in turmoil, chaotic thoughts bombards me day by day
Your self-destruction holds me down I cannot find my way

Stuck in purgatory, darkness came to smother
Yet every time I reach for you, you just reach for another
I need for you to be needing me and rid yourself of this strife
But more; I need for you to let me free and let me live my life!

Author notes

To my dearest sis.

I love you so much, here is a little something for you. I hope it is what you wanted but it is straight from my heart. I hope it helps and heals the wounds you so dearly need to rid yourself from. I can't really think of much more to say but my thoughts and prayers go with you and I hope everything works out in the end.

With all my love
Your Brother

What a brother you are to your sister! I truly hope that everything works out with your sister's friend. This was a very touching piece to read, Himler.
