i fell through the cloud
you told me i could jump on.
i was mistaken
to believe we could make it.
you broke the promise
when you changed,
or the promise changed
when i broke you.
you forced up my sleeves,
and i swore i was clean,
but i will scar myself again
to erase the empty words carved into my skin.
a mid-morning endorphin rush,
the stars in my eyes burnt out one by one.
you'd show me the door,
had you any idea how i got inside.
so get some sleep,
