Brother, my brother!

Brother, my brother!
I’m losing you, losing you,
Son of a bitch!
I can’t bear to think of you
Holding her close, as once you held
Me, close to your heart.
We were brothers, my brother,
And now this, this creature,
All oily smiles and
Deceitful serenity.
Simpering shrew treading giggly gaiety
Into our carpet.
Dark, muddy footprints.
What did she do
To earn your affection,
Divide our affections?
How can you stand
To watch her so closely,
Answer her smiles
With coquettish tenderness?
Blood-sucking viper,
Destroying fraternity;
Love at it’s purest.
Treacherous dog:
You, who were brother!
Promising constance while
Plotting betrayal, and sodomy.
Sodomy! Love-snatching she-dog,
Butchering children, your
Children, our children:
Long carefree days of dreams
Cast in sunlight.
Trekking through life
To bask in the glow
Of our own spotless glory.
Love pure as unsullied snow.
I loved you, I loved you,
Now broken, I carry the dull, leaden cross
Of blood-spattered albatross,
Screwed to my neck,
With thick, twisted bolts.
And it’s wearing her smile,
Sickening smile.
Brother, my brother!
Did I offend you?
Did I do wrong
To make you believe I was
Shameful, unworthy?
She’s tricked you, this creature,
Snared you with eyelashes
Fluttering wildly,
Mad, wild animal.
Captured, bewitched you,
Foul, artful witch,
Scheming, conniving.
She never could love you
With strength, as I do.
With force, as I do.
What could she want
But to break you, break
You! O brother, my brother,
I gave and I hate myself
For giving so brazenly,
Hateful bamboozler,
You tricked me, the first day you
Sat at my table and offered your hand.
There was nothing, no talk of this
Fool, addled creature,
Dangerous creature,
I thought you belonged to me,
You made me believe it;
Then what do I find
When I turn on the light
And find you upstairs
Acting all innocent,
Knowing I know, but too scared to say it?
I worried, I worried,
Sure that I’d find you
Caught up in the sheets,
With guilt strewn between you
Like poor slaughtered animal.
The flush on your cheeks
And the heat in your eyes.
What do you think?
That I’m stupid, a half wit?
Creature, I swear
I was brother, his brother
Until you arrived with your venom,
Your poison. I’ll get you,
You won’t last;
Your spells will unravel,
They’re dead as I think it,
They can’t last forever.
But until that day,
And it will come, believe me,
I’ll flinch at the sight of you,
Curse and bewail
The being who spawned you.
And I’ll pray for my brother,
Kind, loving brother,
Who trusted me, felt for me.
Believed in our fellowship.
Brother, my brother!
I’m losing you, losing you.

I like the poem and the raw emotion. My real brother use to leave my cousin and I at school to walk home, for he had the car, several miles when he finally got hold of the wild thing.
