oh how the mighty have fallen
within a robe of pretention
that hides their exposed
like emperors new clothes
into a fear that belies
their once seeking eyes
away from dreams chased
fervently,
now defaced
ignoring hope
and turning away hopeful
ripping ambition
off walls of motivation
with a death grip that strips
the chasm of the future
they tumble and fade into
painful obscurity
which their younger eyes
could never have conceived
In all their wildest dreams
of regal rewards
and shining swords
success weilded proudly
far above the place where
the mighty have fallen

This is a remarkable piece of work, I must say it plucked at a few heart strings, and your use of deep metaphors really drive the image into the readers mind
