(is procrastination what they could call this dilemma?)
Streetlight people leaning against icy poles that show through your stares; Grasping your waist with sharpened fingers, struggling. Taping down your eyes, turning with the wind on their side; Becoming confident, writing on your eyelids in black marker. Reaching out to find nothing to tear away from you.
(You turn, and your pace becomes hasty...)
You could swear there was nothing there; You were wrong. They're toying with your mind, creating sharp edges on the carbon and mercury spinning around you; Leaving imprints that beg to be discovered. Digging down deep to feel the black dust filter through their fingers.
(Can't you see them rolling their necks backwards?)
X's close their mouths, whitening their bloodshot eyes for blinking seconds; Staring into the aftermath of a battle fought with words. The hard soles of their shoes clap against the bottoms of their blistered feet, hoping to find you down the alley; They Do.
(and of course, we didn't expect YOU to become a victim...)
Air rushes out of a throat you didn't have; Cinders and soot clog up your body, rusting over you and outlining the borders. They kiss the fortune cookies found in your pockets; Run their hands through your collinear hair, laid on the concrete.
(Their eyes whisper Goodbye as the envelope opens)

I keep clicking on other poems you've created and you amaze me with your words, imagaination, and unusual outlook.
"They're toying with your mind, creating sharp edges on the carbon and mercury spinning around you; Leaving imprints that beg to be discovered."
It left me breathless.

I LOVED these lines:
They kiss the fortune cookies found in your pockets
They're toying with your mind, creating sharp edges on the carbon and mercury spinning around you; Leaving imprints that beg to be discovered. Digging down deep to feel the black dust filter through their fingers.
and the title made me laugh for some reason.
