How soon my thoughts have betrayed
The memory when I was like her...
How soon my emotions begin to fade
Back into the dark depleted corner
How soon I forget the same pain
Stupidity has throbbed into my heart
Robbing my wisdom of Charisma, caring
How soon I have forgotten...
That, once, I was exactly like her
I know what she needs;
And I remember how I bleed
Through thick and thin I lived.
She will too, but I must help her
Like someone once helped me
How soon my feelings faded into dust
As I step out into the Summer sun.
It blinds me how fast I got use to-
the light again after being submerged
into an almost never ending night.
I will try to be her guide, be her light
Because now I recall the reasons
I was the way I was; Clinging
to anyone who would soften my fall.
