He is...

Look not for me in the shadows
Nor yet the streets at night
For I am a creature of the day
A laughing child of light

My eyes do twinkle like the stars
My soul burns bright within
No sadness lives within my walls
I give no place to sin

I am the angel sent to succour thee
To raise you from your plight
No power on Earth may harm you
I bring with me Gods true might

In my hand I hold his beacon
For you he sent me to fight
The demon who oppresseth thee
From me he will take flight

I am the angel of his wrath
Yet for thee I bring his love
He is your heavenly father
He is your God above

Please tell me what you think

  • Timeless, beautiful, inner brilliance

Light shines between and within each line of this most glorious poem of hope! Light within the picture adds to the effect of light and hope. The use of older language like "succour" and "oppresseth thee" increase the timeless feel. There is a lovely flow and rhythm to the words. The title adds mystery to the poem and the mystery is solved beautifully by the last line.

  • What a lovely poem about a ministering angel!
