A Mirror's Reflection is not Always what it Seems

Red rose petals tumble endlessly to the floor,
As I watch from the inside, looking out on the world,
Candle’s mark the pathway that she took,
Walking away without a backwards look,
Leaving me locked here, hidden in this dream,
Kicking and screaming against the unseen.

A mirror is faced, two sides show the image,
Either majestic and grand, the picture of desire,
Or darkness and sorrow, the true image of life,
Because in this world of deathly romance and hidden luck,
Our eyes are covered by shadows and only those daring enough,
To remove the blindfold, to see and seek the truth of the world,
Are the only one’s who live long enough to see the dawn break again.

One day you will seek and hear,
One day you will search and find,
One day you will discover the truth,
Which I’ve hidden for so many years,
You will be drawn by wisdom but held by fear,
As the darkness encloses you in this silent nightmare.

For years I’ve dwelt in the shadows,
Masked by your terror of the darkest unknown,
But now the end is nigh,
At the end of everything I shall reveal myself to the world,
In the moment before the eternal abyss,
I shall be seen every where,
Humanities darkest fear, the night-time horror tale,
The second figure stood behind you in the mirror,
The crying child that when you look isn’t there,
That figure which you put to your imagination,
Is me,
And I’m as real as you are.

I’m as real as the sunlight,
I’m as real as the glass,
And now you’ve read this,
I’m coming at last.
Now you’ve whispered the words to me,
I’m coming to you,
From the darkest depths of your mind,
And you know it’s true.
Because now the child in your mirror is screaming,
Watching from the inside, looking out on the world,
You can’t hear their voice, but they’re telling you to run.

The mirror is my hiding place,
My governing domain,
So you can’t see me,
You can’t hear me,
Not even as I breath on your neck,
You can’t hear the ring of metal as it glitters in the sunlight,
You don’t see me raise the knife,
But you feel it plunge into you,
Taking your life.

Red rose petals tumble endlessly to the floor,
As you watch from the inside, looking out on the world,
Candle’s mark the pathway that I took,
Walking away without a backwards look,
Leaving you locked here, hidden in this dream,
Kicking and screaming against the unseen.

Now I am the real girl,
And you are the glass,
Free from my prison,
Free at long last.

This gave me the chills but in a positive way...beautifully written, I could absolutely see the image of it in front of me...the rhyming seemed unforced and flowing...

I adored these lines the most:
Our eyes are covered by shadows and only those daring enough,
To remove the blindfold, to see and seek the truth of the world,
Are the only one’s who live long enough to see the dawn break again

    very poetic
    take care
