Ahhhh! I LOVE IT! The lotus is my favourite flower! And what a beautiful description!

    ^______^

I hope you place very well in the contest. I, for one, would definitely have you in my finalists list.

(Especially since you could get such a reaction out of me with the 5-7-5 format, which I usually dislike. Great job!)

thanks for the wonderful comment Kin... personally im fond of contemporary/modern haiku...traditional ku, are a real challenge for me to do... I find them very hard to create... I doubt ill ever master them, but i do love to write them just the same.

I prefer contemporary haiku myself. Most of the time, traditional ku are too wordy. But this one definitely isn't. And it is nice to challenge oneself this way now and then.

        And you're welcome. ^_^

in my youth I spent many times at the pond in evening
      gurgle of water against silence
      watching the lilies _float_
