And sometimes during the day?
Why is my heart not happy and
Prayers unanswered when prayed?
Why do I feel so all alone
In the middle of a crowd?
Oh God! My God please hear me
As to You I cry aloud.
Why does my heart feel broken?
And why is depression the norm?
Why don’t you hear me, dear Jesus,
And one of Your miracles perform?
Happiness for me has now vanished
With only slight hope of return.
Until my happiness comes back to me
The tears from my eyes will churn.
I long once more to feel happy
Feel loved and wanted again.
Not to just be told I’m loved
But feel it from within.
Until then my eyes will be crying,
My heart will await the return
For the one who makes me happy,
And causes my heart to yearn.

Just because you dont get the answer you are hoping for...doesnt mean your prayers arent heard....sometimes unanswered prayers are the best gifts of all. Nicely written!

You happen to be so correct my child. However, at the time one is going through what seems to be a bad experience in their life, they may have doubts. When it's finally over and things get back to some resemblance of normality, it is then we realize that our prayers were not in vain. Thanks for reading and taking the time to offer a bit of comfort. Your words are appreciated and you are very kind.
Bless you, and gentle caresses,
Ron

Sad as it may be it continues to be a prayer. I know that God will answer in His own way and in His own time frame. Knowing how my attempt at poetry can sometimes touch someone is in it's self a blessing. Thank you for expressing your feelings in your kind comment.
Bless you my friend,
Ron

Dear Friend,
you are never alone even though you may feel it so...life moves around us and surrounds us all with love...some of Gods greatest gifts is unanswered prayers so they may seem but when a little time does pass we begin to understand...with eyes wide open and with a heart filled with need then your prayers are answered for we have chosen to see

blessing dear one and happiness abound

Thank you Ann, for your words of encouragement. They say that poetry is the window to ones heart. You just had a peek at the inside when it was filled with sadness. Actually, I feel a lot better now, and I DO realize that God answers prayer. Sometimes the answer is no, and you're right, it WILL become clear later on. Thanks again for your response, and I hope you have a great week end.
Love and gentle caresses,
Ron

Hang in there, Jed. Remember, Job cried out to God with no answer for 47 chapters! it may seem like a vary long time, but God's timing is always the right time. Keep praying. You ARE loved, when you're ready to hear it.

Karen, thank you for your encouragement. I don't know why I get so down and out sometimes. I, like so many others, get so impatient and forget that God looks at time a lot differently than we. Then someone comes along to remind me, and reassure me of Gods love. Thank you my dear Karen for letting God use you in this capacity. Your comment has touched my heart. May His blessings be yours my friend.
Gentle caresses,
Ron

Princess,
Thank you for your observation. Sometimes, with the right inspiration, my feelings do come through. Some folks may think I'm nuts because of the way I write, and do not understand me, but that's the way it is, I'm just me. Thanks again for coming by.
May God bless you my friend,
Ron

Sheila,
It has been said that misery loves company, but I didn't realize there WERE so many who shared these feelings. I hesitated when I finished writing it a few days ago and almost didn't post. Since I did, you now know there is one more among the crowd you feel so alone in.
Thanks for being here for me, and for bringing such kind words.
Gentle caresses,
Ron

Campanaro,
I can certainly use the rainbows and the sunshine you sent. We have had a lot of rain here in NC this spring. Thank you too for your wonderful comment, and for letting me know that something I wrote touched you so deeply. It does one good to hear that from others. I hope you enjoyed it enough to return.
Blessings and gentle caresses,
Ron

i nearly cried, i feel the same way the poet feel. great and well written, lots of imagery and metaphore, here is my fave part.
Why is my heart not happy and
Prayers unanswered when prayed?
Why do I feel so all alone
In the middle of a crowd
Why don’t you hear me, dear Jesus,
And one of Your miracles perform?
Happiness for me has now vanished

Thanks for reading and sharing your feelings about it with me. I wish it could have been less sad, but that was my mood at the time of the write.
Bless you Isaac, just keep on believing as I am trying to do and someday happiness will return I'm sure.

Good poem, I enjoyed it...Good ryhme scheme... It speaks of a type of depression, a feeling of being alone, that is easy to identify with...My only criticism is one or two of the ryhmes is a little awkward. tears "churning" from the eyes is a little odd. Perhaps change it to The tears from my eyes will Burn?" Just an idea... Over all good work.

-
First of all let me thank you for taking the time to read my work. I really appreciate your comment and criticism. In my defense, the word "Churn" has four different meanings. I chose the fourth:
4. vi feel unsettled: to move unpleasantly, as if in a churn
my stomach was churning

I hope this doesn't offend you and you do seem to be very observant, however, I think I'll leave it as is this time. :-]
Thanks again, and bless you my dear friend.

Lena, Thank you so much for your kind comment. I think that God lets us go into the valley sometimes so we will appreciate it more when we reach a height. May God bless you also for your encouraging words my friend.
