*Naive Evolution*

i

Reflecting upon that first
flight away...
all seemed so natural, expected
like any another day.

There must have been elation
a moments trepidation,

but I don’t recall it.

ii

My father was six feet
of good times and bad weather,

wishing me well.
Eyes smiled while I stepped
outside his broad shadow.

My mother looked upon me
with loving wisdom ~ wordless knowledge
I dared not tap,

leaving my nativity
fully in tact.

iii

Years later,
I know what she couldn’t say…

Now, my fathers comforting shadow
has followed

his ashes into the wind,

My mother ~ now a grandma

has remarried a…. (I shall not say!)

iv

Brilliant twinkles blanket
ascensions' forever fields~
Longing to gather each star
and their billions of possibilities.

Traveling dirt road memories
admiring my backwoods' history
and each faded road sign

feeling forlorn,

yet reborn....

This piece tugged hard at Spirit and after reading several times ~ I'm Honored also Humbled You took the time to pen for my contest

You took the prompt and brought forth much for the Mind to feast upon~ Bravo!! When I digest words written, images come through that grab hard~ Woven Strengths: I Love the words: Traveling dirt road memories. I kept
getting this feeling of raw uncensored experiences gathered..The miles feet traveled- remembered... Reference to *faded road sign*...pulled for I was seeing a newly erected sign and then wear also tear over time~ butttt also I was getting images of blinders on at crucial points where focus was needed whether the warnings were heeded
or not...the sign was there the whole duration Adore the words: wordless knowledge Speaks volumes- I am being shown Humility~ shared-passed down so it could be passed along future generations And Noooooooo it was not too long
Holy Smokes ...I write till the reader falls asleep... now that is long
Hopefully my comment to Your write above the chuckle makes sense
Powerful verse and message You have brought forth

    These words grabbed and pulled~
    Now, my fathers comforting shadow
