Ah, if they knew Mariza more they'd have seen just how spot on this poem really is. I admit to not giving it the attention it deserves. Re-reading it now, I see just what a fine job you did-- I mean of capturing the beauty and concise style our little dynamite keg. lol

Yes, I was quite happy with it---
      thought it cpatured the "dynamite"
and the personal style as well as
      her personal moonlight!

      Thanks for the re-read!
In your first comment I think
      you were concerned with your
own ability to come up with something
that you had not said before!!

Ah yes, you are right. Sometimes my mind isn't where it should be, which is on the poem I am reading. I need to learn to just wait, that the author will appreciate it more if it takes me a while to read as long as my mind is on their work when I do finally read it. Live and learn.

Yeah, we'd had some discussion which bothered me, I'm sure it was just my guilt sticking out. A shame since I missed such a lovely short poem, that quite frankly deserved more than it got, but I read contests like that all the time where my winners would have been completely different. My vanity says I am a better judge, lol

Vanity or not, I like it, as I do the two in my current contest.

Not vanity, but trust in your judgement,
that you seek out the art of the piece,
          the connection to the subject.
It's your Yemish instinct, no doubt!

It is like one I read yesterday where the poem had been highly decorated several times. The tone was nice, a bit threadbare for my taste, but it had that air of erudition. People loved it. But as I read it, I realized it was comparing a broken relationship to the suffering of Christ on the cross, which for me immediately made it kitsch. Ah well.

Ah, tonight is a smile night
lunar light inspired...that is a wonderful line!
Active dynamite, hm, not so sure if I still am, lately I feel more like a wet dynamite, no sparks, but will get better after whole Belgium has paid a visit to Kai-Mook.

Thanks for this lovely poem, it put a big smile on my face

    • A smile just for you---
even if your dynamite is dampened
it has all the will to be brilliant
      upon the right occasion!!!

      Nice to see you, Mariza,
      Been missing you!!!!!

Love and hugs across the miles,

      M-C

  • Such a beautiful creation here...words and illustrations are gorgeous!
Ty for joining in the celebration to honor a lovely hostess and poet

    Lynda

    • Thank you, Lynda.
      Mariza is a fascinating subject,
      complete with twists and turns,
      a pleasure to know!

This is a lovely poem, artwork has its own pedestal; I think that you see something in this poet, and person so well reflected here...she finds beauty in the world, and helps us to see it too... remarkable...PK

    • I have read her fiery side,
      chatted with her personal side,
been awed with her lunar side,
      and loved all!

Nice to see you here, PK.
      I am emerging from life
      of planting containers,
      painting on clay,
      just in time to see
      the prompt!!

I sometimes feel like I'm saying the same old tired, trite things over and over again. Mariza deserves better than the usual threadbare words which she's heard from me far too many times to have any effect on her...Maybe I need to learn Portuguese or Dutch.

I'm sure she is pleased. We all like to think we matter to others.

    • Threadbare is never an adjective
that could attach itself to your words!

Moving, heartfelt, clever, even sensuous at time,
but not bare of threads. Rich as a tapestry
      a better description!

Oh, you have it! The solution to crack her up!
Your attempt to translate your words to
      Portuguese of Dutch--the right word,
      but perhaps the wrong form--
      as "I heart your appreciaton
      for four footed creatures!"
as it might come out in
      Portuguese!

Your last sentence---the key to survival-
      knowing we matter to others---
as essential as water and air!

No, sadly she's seen me butcher Portuguese quite often, so that is hackneyed to. My new theory is that at some point words become superfluous unless we can find new ones.

        • A code! A secret code!
          A Captain Midnight secret decoder!
Did I get you on that one---very early radio,
          5:45 p.m. weekdays!
          When the old one expired
I tried to break the new code on my own!

          Ah, a Mari-code!!!

A mari-code? lol that would work for me, I mean, a Yem-code. I think Ms. Mariza would prefer something more traditional. I thought to write one about her for this contest but as I said, she's heard all my trite words and I fear they would fall dead before reaching her ears.

If I can find words that she'll see as genuine. I will. It matters not if they are genuine, they have to be seen as such. We'll see.

            • Ah, the perception!
The wise one is particularly wise tonight.
The intent very often does not matter at all,
if the perception by another does not ferret out
              that original intention!

A Yem code---great for the brain cells!
But not for the faint of heart!

Basically people need Yem-code to understand all my typos.

                • Just found the LadyHawke trailer---
                  dungeons, castle towers---fits the
                  Sir Yem image!

Contest link gone from your page????

only two people would write about me and they both did. So the link to the contest had become meaningless.

                    • Awe...no!
The fan club is much bigger than that!!!
I wouldn't have known if I hadn't seen the link
for I don't look at contest lists...
                      Perhaps I should!

                • That's a game in itself.
                  In unfixable messages
                  I have left some open
                  to interpreation. The
kley is to sound them out--
                  to find the right letters!

Mari's dynamite comes in small powerful packages.

Another inspirational poet here I consider myself fortunate to be acquainted with.

    Another beautiful tribute Aes.
