Sweet solitude

Alone on the decks
And the stench of the sea
All scents brush aside
Settle Down upon me
The endless velvet blue
Sinking below
The coral of vibrant colors
Only I could once see and believe
But I have no reflection
And I know soon
The sea life will be dead like me
I leave all the ones who loved
To their cares I was blind
Now I run away from my shame
For the one being left behind
I'm leaving, to start over the same life

A lot of sadness in this poem - but it speaks volumes. A good entry for the contest and thank you

An interesting take on the painting! Some very good images.
Your rhyme scheme changes, but other than that, it's a very good write. Thank you for your entry! CookieZeal

Nicely written, with a good flow and imagery. The idea of running away on the ship is intriguing.
