Strangers

Through thick and thin we stuck together,
two ice crystals melted, mixed, and cooled again.

Two friends,
two lovers,
bound by trust,
and in our trust we forgot that love is blind.

In another life, I remember looking at you,
marveling at how familiar every gesture seemed.

But even though you haven't changed,
and every movement is still expected,
I can't for the life of me remember
what made me think that you were good enough for me...

we might as well be strangers.

Author notes

I am trying to get out a writing block, haven't written anything worth reading in about a year. I welcome all and any critique, don't worry about sounding harsh.
