I am a little mini coupe
With face so round and sweet
The cutest ‘iddle cuddle car
That ever raced the street
I goo goo to the girls I see
I’m oogled by the guys
Old ladies find me precious
Old men think me a prize
But truly I am humbled
By all who stop to ask -
How much I drink, how big I am
And can I go real fast?
I seem to giggle as I move -
One contagious rolling grin
Shared with every passerby.
Returned to all within.
With face so round and sweet
The cutest ‘iddle cuddle car
That ever raced the street
I goo goo to the girls I see
I’m oogled by the guys
Old ladies find me precious
Old men think me a prize
But truly I am humbled
By all who stop to ask -
How much I drink, how big I am
And can I go real fast?
I seem to giggle as I move -
One contagious rolling grin
Shared with every passerby.
Returned to all within.
Author notes
Rumor has it the Mini was designed with the proportions of an infant to appeal to women, and the roundness of bosoms to appeal to the men. I'm wondering if that doesn't account for the huge number of smiles, waves and thumbs up we get while traveling the road together.

You're on... that should bring me up to the height of the seats in the range rover LOL!
I've always fancied A VW beetle myself (the old ones). -
Used to do some vintage car racing and loved the old Mini Cooper - a great little car. You've done a great job of making the new one "come alive." Nice write. Paul

Don't talk to me of mini coop's,
They're something of a bane,
But that's more to do with the ex-wife,
For she's a bloody pain!
She used up all house profits,
To buy the bloody car,
I wish to god she'd just keep driving,
For nowhere is too far!
(Bitter, me?) He he... Great poem! Many thanks... -
I really liked the most of this poem. I'm just not too sure about one line.
Passed to passed or passersby
I just don't think it's very fitting, but that is just my opinion. Other than that great write.

My dear Kyla, I promise if we ever have an opportunity to ride together, I shall let you sit on the roof. lol Jane

My sister used to drive a mini. I hated that car... used to get so car sick, something about being closer to the ground she said. I thought she was a tremedously popular person until she explained to me that mini-drivers (in England at least) have this unwritten code where they all beep and acknowledge each other on the road, regardless of whether they know each other or not. I thought that was pretty weird. Mujst admit I was gla when she bought the range rover with all the extra leg room LOL!
Enjoy your little mini,
Good luck in the contest,
Kyla

Excellent - a pet.
Dear OLG.,
This is a witty, light, well written and affectionate tribute to a happy car. May your garage soon be completed so that this (so far un-named) pet can be housed in the comfort it deserves (or will you take it into the house at night?)
I hope that supermarket carparks, tight corners, drink-drivers,
vandals and all other contemporary motoring hazards do nothing to dent or mar the smiles of your little beauty but that you and Beaugus enjoy many miles (or KM's) of scar-free motoring.
Your poem is a most enjoyable read and I love the rhyming and the small-car metre. Good luck in the contest. Applause.
Love and Hugs, XXX Hugh.

This was a great read, and I couldn't help but grin. Plus, I like minis. I love personification, and this was an outstanding example of why. Groovy...

But there's a darker secret
I show to those within -
I hug the ground and growl so low:
It's sexier than sin!
Made me smile along with it - great little poem. Good luck! -
