I wake up each morning
A dog by my side
My only true friend
In whom I confide
A trusted companion
A gift from above
No matter what I give out
I get back in love
There’s a sparkle you get
When a dog looks at you
A special place in your heart
You know they see too
So much love do they give
For that their admired
Nothing asked back
No payment required
I treasure each moment
Short time that they’re here
I love and I’ll miss you
With every memory and tear
God created this creature
On a very blessed day
Thank you my Lord
Is all I wanted to say

A pleasant work about a treasured friend. People tend to see relationships with animals much more clearly than their relationships with people. Your piece is an excellent example of this. Thank you for your entry.
