Bella

Clear blue eyes,
with a knowledge so deep.
Vibrant with energy,
not muted even by sleep.

Soft, downy fur,
as white as the snow.
Warm as bright sunshine,
rustling with a gentle flow.

But now her eyes are dark,
slow and sad with pain.
Now her energy is slow,
kept captive with a chain.

Her soft fur is coarse,
moving with harsh heaves.
Her ribs show through her skin,
As deeper delve the thieves.

Cancer steals her life,
taking away her breath.
Gradually it makes her weaker,
leading her towards death.

But no matter how she looks,
no matter if she dies.
She’ll live on always in my heart,
as she soars above the skies.

I love you, Bella.
