Amaranthine Dream

Sleep well, you angel
I'm watching over you though I’m  a little too far to see your face
In my rose colored dreams, I paint flowers across your walls
And then you are filled with sunshine inside

But while you sleep I am awake
Hoping you have dreams only of sunsets and lovely fireflies
As I promise you silently
I would stay forever by your side

To you I never would lie
Chasing all the nightmares away from your mind
You let out a sigh in your sleep, as I try not to cry

Your face used to make me cry, but now it’s your soul
This is how it is now, we’ve both grown old

I don’t know what I was after at the start but it’s all different now
I hold you tight as you slip away again
Into dreams of lonely woods and forgotten dreams
And I stretch out my hand to bring you onto a clear bright path in front of the sun

But you can’t see me, for I’ve already passed by your body
I stayed as long as I could
But somewhere along the way an angel so beautiful and sweet
Swept me away from our secret place

I still believe in dreams we will meet
There will never be an end to our story
I can no longer remember the beginning
We are simply free
