The Energy

Missing image
I'm here my love, can you feel me
I've been here most everyday
whispering long into the night
just passing the time away

I whisper to feel your touch
for I know you are surely there
and so I sit here by this window
for a glimpse of you, though it be rare

Your body is no longer visible
yet I sense you within my bounds
and so I whisper inside myself
hoping you'll hear and stay around

I speak to you in whispers
of our life, those days gone by
so that you won't forget me
when its your time, for that final good-bye

I know you'll be going soon
for this way it has to be
you have to move to the next level
to be born again, so you can find me

But until that day I'll sit right here
at this window where you left me
absorbing every ounce
of your after life, energy

Author notes

Whispering to pass the time. Whisper for the days gone by. Whisper with the voice inside of you.

This is so sweet. It had me in awe all the way through. The background and picture are perfect compliments too.

I whisper to feel your touch
for I know you are surely there
and so I sit here by this window
for a glimpse of you, though it be rare

I just love that part, it's so profound and touching.

Simply beautiful! Thank you for entering

  • Wonderful-Profound...

Outstanding story-poem. "The Energy" flows reviving the pages of history.

It seems that a general revision will make it a masterpiece.

I read the fourth stanza as follows:

"I speak to you in whispers
of our life, those days gone by
so that you won't forget me
when its for your final good-bye"

The closing stanza I read as:

"But until that day I'll sit right here
at this window where you left me
    absorbing your after life's energy"

I have enjoyed reading "The Energy",

Much gratitude to the author for sharing this beautiful story-poem.

    In respect and admiration,

    Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

It's so sad. I love it.

I like the ghost concept althoughb that picture is rather creepy. I think he needs to pass on into the afterlife though. Leave being a ghost to casper and oogie boogie. Nice though.

  • Humm..the touch of the connectivity through the hopes and the words makes this poetry quite universl and optimistic one..and the depth makes it comfortable to get the things done..this brings the peace around..great poetry..

  • I love the stories you tell in your poetry. You have great emotional imagery and a wonderful rythm and flow that carries the reader along easily. I believe that true love will keep two people bound together even when death has parted them. I loved reading this. great job.
