Insomnia...

I stare into this blackened sky,
Hoping,
Wanting,
Needing.

Beauty sparkles in this dark void,
Making the landscape glow luminous.
Many have never truly embraced such beauty.
Either because of fear,
Regret,
Or despair.

As more hours pass on by,
So does this entrancing beauty.
As dusk draws near,
The moon cries.
With each luxurious tear that falls,
The earth is watered and grows because of the night.

After staring for hours into this oblivion,
I head back to my room,
And dream about the night...

    Love the words used and i really loved the first line. Actually i loved every line of this poem and it shows great imagery and it doesnt suck..its amazing.

    I love how it sort of just trails off at the end. It went perfectly with the calm peacefulness of this poem and doesn't feel like it's missing anything. You have some amazing imagery in this piece. My favorite part was

    The moon cries.
    With each luxurious tear that falls,
    The earth is watered and grows because of the night.

    Lol, I'm an insomniac. I loved the end. Nothing happened in the end and that's exactly how it should be.
    I feel exactly like that in the early hours of the morning after staying awake the whole night, though I do not hold any particular fascination for the dark or the moon or the dreams thereafter.

    I do occasionally do this, except I wish that I could get some sleep!
