A Young Bride's Dreams

She wishes to be loved, kissed, and cherished,
to be held in his strong arms with care
to be told he loves her and needs her
for the rest of his life and eternity.
She dreams of the day that will come
when she is dressed all in white.
A beautiful off the shoulder gown
with a long train held by two little girls.
A veil of white to see through
but also hides her face from the groom.
The lovely words and I dos
the running to the honeymoon car.
Throwing the bridal bouquet and
expectations of what is to come
when they enter the bridal suite
with passion and love for each other.
These are a young bride's dreams
to be the wife of a nice man
who only wants to share his life
with his young bride forever.

Going to sleep beside him
hearing him breathe the night air
and feeling safe in knowing
he'll be there in the morning.
Waking to his kiss or embrace each day
knowing for richer or poorer
in sickness, in health
she will not face life alone.
These are a young bride's dreams
to love a man completely
faults and all
and knowing he loves her the same. -
